After the Rain secures Pera Spa deal

Swiss spa supplier After The Rain has secured a deal to provide the recently opened Pera Spa at the Pera Palace hotel in Istanbul, Turkey with its spa treatments.

The hotel's 380sq m spa is operated by Spa Soul, a Turkish independent management company co-founded by entrepreneur Zeki Dikmen.

After the Rain will supply Pera Spa with its signature body treatments, aroma massages, scrubs and wraps designed by the company's cosmetic chemist Pierre Bottiglieri and training director Christine Masson.

Patrick Saussay, managing director of After The Rain, said: "This is an important step in Turkey, the right reflection of our positioning in this country, where hotels and spas are known to skillfully combine originality, tradition and avant-garde."

It is the company's second exclusive deal in Turkey, following a contract with a spa in the tourist resort of Antalya.

The famed Pera Palace reopened in September following a €23m (£19m) restoration project which began in April 2008.

Classified a 'museum hotel' by the Turkish Superior Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Property, architectural conservation was by KA.BA Conservation of Historic Buildings and Architecture and the interior redesign and remodelling was under the control of the Metex Design Group.

The original owner of the Pera Palace was Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, which operated the Orient Express train service. The hotel is now managed by a Turkish conglomerate, the Besiktas Group.
